Bae Ji-hwan of the Pittsburgh Pirates contributed to the team’s victory.
On the 30th (Korean time), Bae Ji-hwan started in center field 8 times in the first leg of the away doubleheader against the Washington Nationals held at Nationals Park in Washington, DC, USA, and recorded 1 hit and 1 point in 4 at-bats. He had a season batting average of 0.253. The team won 6-3.
In the 4th inning, he attempted a surprise bunt from 2nd out, 1st and 3rd base. It was an attempt to shake opposing pitcher Patrick Corbin, who gave up two runs with Conor Joe’s two-run home run, but Corbin responded with a calm defense and the attempt went back to nothing.
The 8th episode was different. From 1st and 2nd base, he exquisitely bunted against Anthony Banda in the direction of 3rd base, and all runners survived as the ball was deflected by Banda’s glove. The official record is an infield hit with a bunt in front of the pitcher.
Pittsburgh gained 6-3 by adding 2 points on Austin Hedges’ push-off walk and Brian Reynolds’ sacrifice fly in the ensuing chance with the bases loaded.
Bae Ji-hwan almost showed a good scene in defense. In the bottom of the 6th inning, he chased Luis Garcia’s batted ball all the way and extended his glove, but missed the batted ball by a short distance, and this batted ball became a triple. He fell while landing, but luckily was not injured.
Miguel Anduha, who was called up that day, hit a two-run home run in the top of the 6th inning when the match was 2-2, and made a big success with 2 hits, 1 run, 3 RBIs and 1 walk in 3 at-bats. 안전놀이터

Washington starter Patrick Corbin also made a save with 7 hits, 1 home run, 1 walk, 2 strikeouts and 3 runs in 5 1/3 innings. However, the bullpen couldn’t keep the flow after that.
