Aaron Wan-Bissaka (25, Manchester United) receives a love call from Wolverhampton.
British ‘Talk Sports’ said on the 17th (Korean time), “When the transfer window opens in January, Wan-Bissaka can leave Manchester United and transfer to Wolverhampton. Wan-Bissaka has only played 4 minutes this season under Eric ten Haag.”
Wan-Bissaka was noted as one of the best right-backs in England just three years ago. In 2019, Manchester United spent £50m (approximately 80 billion won) on a transfer fee to sign Wan-Bissaka, who played for Crystal Palace. It was a controversial transfer because of the expensive transfer fee. So far, the main evaluation is ‘failed recruitment’.
In this 2022-23 season, he was definitely pushed out of the starting lineup. Ten Haag, who has been appointed as Manchester United’s new manager, is using Diogo Dalot (23) as his starting pitcher instead of Wan-Bissaka. Wan-Bissaka only appeared in one game, including the Premier League and Europa League, but Dalot scored a goal in 20 official matches.
To make matters worse, Man Utd is trying to recruit Jeremy Frimpong (22, Leverkusen) as Dalot’s backup. Frimpong can play both left and right side defense, and is a promising player who was selected for the Dutch national team and went to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
Because of this, the possibility of Wan-Bissaka’s transfer to Wolverhampton seems to be getting higher and higher. Hwang Hee-chan’s team, Wolverhampton, is currently undergoing winter training in Madrid, Spain. It is expected that we will see Wan-Bissaka in a Wolverhampton shirt as early as 2023.
