The men’s under-20 (U-20) soccer team led by coach Kim Eun-joong will train for three days in preparation for the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
According to the Korea Football Association on the 20th, the U-20 national team will train at the Paju National Training Center (NFC) from the 24th to the 26th. Coach Kim Eun-joong summoned 26 players for this training.
Ten players who participated in the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) U-20 Asian Cup last March, including Kim Joon-hong, Lee Yeong-joon (above Kim Cheon Sangmu), Hwang In-taek (Seoul E-Land), and Cho Young-gwang (FC Seoul), were again on the list for training. New faces such as Cho Jae-hoon (Pohang Steelers), Lee Seung-jun (FC Seoul), and Jung Ji-hoon (Gwangju FC) also took the last test opportunity.
The national team checks their strength by holding practice matches against Incheon United on the 25th and Incheon National University on the 26th.
The 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup will be held in Argentina from May 20th. The group draw will be held on the 21st of this month at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland.
Coach Kim will head to Argentina directly to inspect the base camp and stadium after this convocation training. After his return to Korea, he confirms the final entry for the tournament and convenes the squad again in early May.
This year’s U-20 World Cup was originally scheduled to be held in Indonesia. However, as anti-Israel sentiment deepened in Indonesia, an Islamic country, FIFA stripped Indonesia of the right to host the tournament last month. Israel is also one of the participating countries. 스포츠토토
