Recently, the Korea Professional Football Federation (President Kwon Oh-gap, hereinafter referred to as the ‘Federation’) signed a business agreement with the Seoul Welfare Center for People with Developmental Disabilities at Boramae Park (located in Dongjak-gu, Seoul) and held an inauguration ceremony for the integrated soccer team ‘FC Boramae’.
Integrative soccer is a sport in which a player with a developmental disability and a non-disabled partner play together as a team. Since 2021, the federation has been hosting the K-League Unified Cup, an integrated soccer tournament, with K-League clubs and Special Olympics Korea. The purpose of integrated soccer is to improve social awareness of people with developmental disabilities and to create an environment where people with developmental disabilities and people without disabilities can mingle together.
This year, not only the club, but also the federation executives and staff members of the ‘FC Boramae’ will participate in the competition as a team with a player with developmental disabilities from the Seoul Welfare Center for People with Developmental Disabilities.
The opening ceremony was attended by Park Seong-gyun, secretary general of the federation, and Seon-ja Choi, director of the Seoul Welfare Center for People with Developmental Disabilities. Then, the team announced the start of ‘FC Boramae’ by handing out uniforms to their players.
At the inauguration ceremony, captain Kang Dong-hun (a player with developmental disabilities) expressed his determination, saying, “I hope that the team members will not get hurt and become a FC Boramae that trains well. And I will work hard so that I can achieve good results in the upcoming competition.”
‘FC Boramae’ will train together from April to November to participate in the ‘K-League Unified Cup’ held in October this year. Furthermore, the federation plans to take charge of the overall operation, including support for uniforms and soccer shoes, so that players with developmental disabilities can feel the joy of soccer. 카지노
Meanwhile, the financial resources required for this project were prepared through the ‘1% Salary Donation Campaign’ that the federation has been conducting since 2013. The ‘1% Salary Donation Campaign’ is an active social contribution activity in which all members of the federation, including officials, referees, competition committee members, and referees donate 1% of their monthly salary.
