Slott confirms he will stay at Feyenoord and Tottenham’s search for a new manager continues.
“Feyenoord coach Arne Slott will remain at the Dutch club despite links to Tottenham Hotspur,” Sky Sports reported on May 26 (KST).
“I’ve heard a lot of rumors about other teams,” Slott said, “and I’m grateful, but my desire is to stay at Feyenoord and continue what we built last season,” he confirmed.
Earlier, it was reported that Slott’s agent had held talks with Feyenoord and Tottenham on May 25, but it is understood that the talks were actually about re-signing Slott. 메이저놀이터
“There were no transfer talks and yesterday’s conversation with Feyenoord was solely about extending my contract,” Slott said.
According to local media, Slott wanted to bring his coaching staff with him to Tottenham, which pushed the penalty fee to nearly £20 million ($328 million). It was more than three times what Spurs thought they were entitled to.
Ultimately, Spurs backed out of Slott’s appointment, and he is expected to rejoin Feyenoord on a deal that will make him the highest-paid coach in Dutch Eredivisie history.
Spurs, meanwhile, have been under an acting manager since sacking Antonio Conte in March. They finished fourth in the standings under Conte and are currently down to eighth.
